• What is DearBaby™ all about?

    DearBaby™ is a unique store based in Singapore that offers both pre-loved & new products for baby and young children. The term “Dear” stands for both 'beloved' and 'costly' at the same time. Hence, DearBaby™ reflects how raising one’s baby lovingly can be a very high cost process both financially and to the environment. We believe that the sharing and using of pre-loved baby products provides an affordable option for parents in giving quality care to their children, and also allows them to do their part towards environmental conservation.

  • The Beginnings

    DearBaby™ was conceptualized by a young couple who had their first baby girl in 2007 and, like most modern parents, wanted to provide the best care for their daughter. However, they soon found that having to get new clothes, toys and other baby products every few months, while undeniably enjoyable at times, added a heavy burden on their finances. It also left them with mountains of clothes, toys and many other stuff to find storage for or dispose of. In addition to that, they also realized that many of the stuff that they had enthusiastically bought for their daughter were still in very good condition (or not even used!) by the time their daughter had outgrown or stopped using them for one reason or another.

    And so it dawned on them that it would probably make more sense, both financially and environmentally, to use a mix of pre-loved and new stuff instead! Not only is using pre-loved items a less costly alternative to buying new stuff all the time; it also allows them to play their part, as responsible residents, towards the conservation of the earth’s resources.

    Driven by the desire to make a difference, DearBaby™ was established in Oct 09 with its first brick and mortar store situated centrally at Depot Heights Shopping Centre. A year later, the store was relocated to its current location at Fusionopolis@One-North. Its website, www.dearbaby.com.sg, has grown rapidly to become one of the top baby and children product online stores in Singapore and the region.
